Church Lane, Sholden restricted byway

The view along Church Lane from London Road, with the graveyard of St Nicholas' church on the left. This part of Church Lane was, until the end of the eighteenth century, the road from Upper Deal to Sholden, Cottington, How Wall, Finglesham and Sandwich. It was relieved by the construction of the Dover, Deal and Sandwich turnpike, now London Road.

This application on behalf of the British Horse Society was made to Kent County Council under section 53(5) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 on 25 July 2020 in relation to part of Church Lane, Sholden, to reclassify the footpath as a restricted byway from St Nicholas' church at London Road to Garden Close and Grantham Avenue.
